C.I.A.O. - Calabrian-Heritage Italian American Organization
We are for those who wish to be involved with a 21st Century Resurgence (Risorgimento) of cultural pride &
experiencing Italian heritage as a rebirth of one's soul. We are not a social club and memberships are available with a
submitted application and approval by our board.
The Calabrian-Heritage Italian American Organization [C.I.A.O.] was established in 2007, as an offshoot of a project
known as "Tira Dirittu". The enthusiasm of this project brought together a variety of people with family roots from all
parts of Italy. This translated into all those who were involved to re-discover their Italian & Calabrian heritage & culture.
We offer our members many enjoyable activities rich in culture and opportunities for personal self growth. We encourage
educational advancement & career development within our Italian community. Our passion is to pass our great Italian
Heritage, Culture, Traditions and Customs to our children because "our children are our future".™
C.I.A.O. sponsors programs such as awarding scholarships to assist students, who wish to pursue higher education
and have the belief and desire to maintain our Italian Heritage, Culture, Traditions and Customs alive.
